Four nights in a riad is about right before the medina starts to tire you. What makes a Morocco trip work is the second half: the Atlas mountains an hour away and fifteen degrees cooler, Essaouira on the Atlantic where the wind keeps it in the low twenties year-round, or Agadir if you want a straightforward beach week. Fez in the north is older and less touristed than Marrakech, with a medina that's genuinely disorienting. The Sahara at Merzouga is two full days of driving each way — Agafay, forty minutes out, gives you desert without the drive.

March to May and September to November. Summer is punishing inland and fine on the coast.
Spring and autumn give 24–28°C in Marrakech and comfortable walking in the Atlas. July and August pass 40°C inland, though Essaouira and Agadir stay in the mid-twenties thanks to the Atlantic. Winter is mild by day at 18–20°C and cold at night — Marrakech sits at 450m and the Atlas gets snow. Ramadan moves each year and changes opening hours; we'll flag it.
