1. Making your booking
To book with Trip Tides, send us an enquiry or contact us directly. Once we have confirmed availability and price and you are happy to proceed, we will ask for a deposit to secure the booking.
The lead passenger must be at least 18 and, by booking, accepts these conditions on behalf of everyone travelling on the booking.
Please read this before you pay. Trip Tides is a booking agent. ATOL protection comes from the supplier providing your holiday, and we do not hold your money in a client trust account. Money you pay us is held as agent for the supplier and passed to them under their conditions. We tell you which supplier is providing your holiday, and what protection applies, in writing before you pay anything. Our financial protection page explains this in full.
2. Deposits and payment
The deposit depends on the supplier and the holiday, and starts from £99 per person. We confirm the exact figure before you pay.
The balance due date is set by the supplier and is shown on your confirmation. It is typically between ten and fourteen weeks before departure, but it varies — some suppliers ask earlier, and late bookings require payment in full at the time of booking. Where we agree a payment plan, every instalment date is written out in full before you commit.
We accept bank transfer and credit or debit card through a secure payment link. If a payment is missed, the supplier may cancel the booking and apply their cancellation charges.
3. What your holiday includes
Depending on what you book, your holiday may include return flights from a UK airport, accommodation, airport transfers, tours or excursions, and internal transport. Exactly what is included is set out on your confirmation. Anything not listed there is not included.
Where charges are payable locally — resort fees, city or tourist taxes, security deposits — we tell you about the ones we know of before you book.
4. Changes to your booking
If you want to change a confirmed booking, tell us in writing and we will ask the supplier. Whether a change is possible, and what it costs, is decided by the supplier under their conditions. We will tell you the full cost before anything is changed, and we will not proceed until you confirm.
Name changes are often restricted, particularly on flights, and are sometimes impossible. Check the spelling on your confirmation against each passport within 48 hours of receiving it.
5. Cancelling your booking
All cancellations must be in writing to contactus@triptides.co.uk.
Cancellation charges are set by the supplier, not by us. They vary between suppliers and between products, and they usually increase as departure approaches. Many airfares, hotel rates and excursions are non-refundable from the moment they are booked. We will tell you the applicable cancellation terms before you book, and confirm the exact charge before we cancel anything.
Any refund is the amount the supplier releases, less any charges they apply.
6. Travel documents
You are responsible for making sure everyone travelling holds a valid passport, any visas or travel authorisations required, and any vaccination or health documentation. Many countries require at least six months' passport validity beyond your return date.
Check the latest requirements at gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice and travelhealthpro.org.uk. If someone is refused boarding or entry because their documents are not in order, no refund is due.
7. Travel insurance
Travel insurance is a condition of booking with us, in force from the day you book rather than the day you fly. Because protection depends on the supplier and cannot be guaranteed, we strongly recommend a policy that includes end supplier failure and, if you are flying, scheduled airline failure cover.
Your policy should also cover cancellation and curtailment, emergency medical expenses and repatriation, baggage, personal liability, and any activities you intend to take part in.
8. Special requests
Tell us about dietary requirements, room preferences, accessibility needs or anything else at the time of booking. We pass every reasonable request to the supplier, but requests cannot be guaranteed and do not form part of your contract even if they appear on your confirmation.
If anyone travelling has a medical condition, disability or reduced mobility that could affect the arrangements, tell us before you book so we can check suitability with the supplier.
